Wild bring Mikael Grandlund into the fold

According to TSN and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s Michael Russo, the Minnesota Wild have signed a player who merits, “One of the best players outside of the NHL” status:

The Minnesota Wild may have another Finnish sniper in their lineup next season, signing Mikael Granlund to a three-year, entry level contract on Wednesday.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the deal is worth $2.7 million and includes a $90,000 signing bonus each year as well as performance bonuses.

“Now I’m a member of the Minnesota Wild and it’s a dream for me,” Granlund said on the team’s website. “I’m really excited. I’ve improved a lot of things. Everything as a player; I’m stronger and I think I’m ready to play in the NHL next season.”
