Pretty funny for a guy who gives up as many weak goals as any so called “elite” goalie to be talking smack about a goal that he would have automatically stopped.  I bet there were, oh, say 12 goals Thomas would have had in the previous 2 games but you don’t hear him saying. “oh yeah, I would have had all those pucks Luongo missed.”  I have a feeling Lu might regret that comment when he gives up 4+ goals again Monday night.

It’s this sort of thing that’ll make me root against him regardless of what team he’s on.

Wow you guys chomping at the bit to jump on Luongo clearly have some major comprehension FAIL.  Luongo was just commenting on their style differences.  He even says Thomas might make saves that he wouldn’t, but he would makes some saves that Thomas wouldn’t.  Do you expect him to say Thomas is god and would make any save that he could make?

No, you don’t comment on the other guys’ saves/non-saves.  You say ‘those are always tough plays to make off the back boards’ and leave it at that.

If athletes say nothing interesting..they get criticized for being bland and uncommunicative. If they actually say something they feel and believe, they are suddenly buffoons who are giving their opponents “bulletin board” material.

Then the cast of cretins shown here can hyperventilate over the “shot across the bow” FIRED!!! by Luongo…lol…what a load of hyper crap.

He basically said what everyone knows…Thomas plays too far out and sometimes gets burned by this strategy. He also has had enormous success with it in these Finals and through the playoffs. EVery style has drawbacks. Including Roberto’s. Hardly controversial.

It sounds like Shooter McGavin talking about Happy Gilmore! Ugh… I hope he goes down in flames the next 2 games. Thomas is pure class.

Yep, nothing but pure class. (As long as you didn’t see the baseball swing he delivered to Burrows in Game 4.)

Agreed.  But he didn’t say it very well.  I’ve never been enamored with the way Luongo handles himself with the press.  Maybe it’s attitude.  Or maybe he’s someone who, when under the bright lights so to speak, can’t choose the right words or properly filter his thoughts before they come out of his mouth.

When I first saw the video I was way more surprised at the panel’s reaction than I was at what he actually said.  But I didn’t think he chose his words well.  So, yeah, what he said was accurate and we all know it, but if Boston needs bulletin board fodder he gave them some.

And Burrows didn’t do a damn thing to deserve it, right?
