Video- Another Example Of Why Visors Should Be Mandatory

Nikita Filatov took a skate to the face last night and suffered a broken nose, but imagine what kind of damage could have been done if Filatov was not wearing a visor.

While he was still injured catching the ‘boot’ to the face, it certainly seems like the visor might have spared him the blade.

Filatov (and more than a few other players who do wear visors) seems to wear his helmet slightly ajar, though. You can see it’s loose when it pops up at the moment of impact, and as he skates away with the trainer you can see it’s still fastened but resting back with the visor covering his forehead. Wearing the helmet right is just as important as the visor.
