Trotz Wants To Continue To Play The “Nashville Way”

from David Climer of The Tennessean,

Trotz believes the key to managing a comparative wealth of riches is to remain true to yourself. A more talented roster does not mean you quit playing a style of hockey that he calls “the Predators’ way.”

“Just because we added people in the lineup doesn’t mean we change our game,” he said. “There are certain foundations in your game that you have to play with — manage the puck, manage the situation and play it correctly. …

“You have to work the same. You have to have the same foundations, and then you have to just manage the game the way the game demands and the situation demands.”

For the Predators, that means tough defense, superior goaltending and opportunistic scoring.

Regardless of the makeup of the roster, some things never change.

Now the pressure ratchets up: The Predators have higher postseason expectations than ever before.

Just winning a series like last year is not good enough. They need to make a deep playoff run.

Anything less is unacceptable.

Holy mackerel! That is awesome. If I wasn’t a Wings fan I’d be rootin for those hillbilles on that picture alone. Priceless.

Uhhh no, it still means running goalies, holding and tripping, and hoping their team scores.  Same as it always has been.
