The Other Side Of Brent Sutter

from George Johnson of the Calgary Herald,

When Matt Stajan deposited the puck into a yawning net on a couldn’t-be-better 2-on-1 pass from Blake Comeau 4: 20 into overtime Tuesday, taciturn tactician Brent Sutter showed everyone a new, surprising, utterly engaging side of the head coach of the big team in this town.

He hugged Lowry. High-fived anyone available. Hollered in delight.

“Honestly,’’ laughed left winger Alex Tanguay, “I saw the video when I got home and I’m thinking ‘WHAT got into him?!’ I’ve never seen him like that. I wasn’t convinced it actually was him. So I had to rewind it a few times just to make absolutely sure.

“It was nice, actually.

“Great to see.

“Brent wants to win as bad as anybody.

“Like all of us, he’s getting caught up in this.’’ The points claimed, he didn’t merely stick out a hand for Lowry to shake.
