The Look Of A Winner

from Tom Powers of the Pioneer Press,

The Wild played their ninth game of 2011-12 Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks. They have scored a grand total of 18 goals (not counting shootouts). Last season, which generally is referred to as “that God- forsaken season,” the team had 25 goals after eight games.

They lost 3-2 to Anaheim. And afterward, coach Mike Yeo did everything but light a victory cigar.

“You have to look at the big picture,” Yeo explained. “Did we deserve to win the game? I believe we did.”

Uhhh, OK.

“Through the course of that game, we were better than them,” he added.

“We’re doing the things that winners do.”

Actually, no. Winners win.

As a Penguins fam, it’s disappointing to see our AGM move become GM elsewhere and just recycle former Pittsburgh assistants through his head coaching carousel. I believe fletcher has it in him to be a great GM, but it seems he needs to start putting hockey and business ahead of his friendships when it comes to hiring.
