Sunday Hockey Points

from Steve Simmons of the Toronto Sun,

• Only seven of 30 Major League Baseball teams, including Texas, have never won the World Series but 13 of 30 NHL teams have never won the Stanley Cup.

• Chris Pronger has become the Peyton Manning of the NHL. You realize just how valuable he is when he isn’t playing.

• It’s entirely possible that the New York Rangers, with that piece-meal defence, won’t make the playoffs in the Eastern Conference. Which would mean that high-priced free agent Brad Richards would be on teams that missed the playoffs five of the past six seasons. And this is the first year on Richards’ nine-year contract.
