Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Dave Stubbs of the Montreal Gazette,
You would find no chill in the air, spoken or in body language, when you walked toward how’s-it-goin’? Canadiens goalie Carey Price on Friday in Brossard.
You need not have told Price that his statistics are entirely pedestrian in the waning days of training camp – three losses against no wins, a save percentage of .868 and a swollen goals-against average of 4.00.
“It’s not a switch that you can turn on,” the 24-year-old said of regaining midseason sharpness. “I still have a week of preparation. I’ve put in the work this week and we’ll let the preparation take care of it.”
Canadiens fans have been fretting – now there’s a surprise – about the exhibition performance of Price.
And they’ve been gravely concerned about his new backup, Peter Budaj, who in three appearances has been tagged with two losses against no wins, showing a save percentage of .872 and an average of 4.80.
