Questions For Today’s Games

from Elliotte Friedman of CBC,

Washington/Boston (Bruins lead 1-0):
Who is going to free Ovechkin?

We all know he’s is the target. The Bruins went after Ovechkin hard, led by Dennis Seidenberg, the defenceman on his side of the ice. At the end of the regular season, he played primarily with Nicklas Backstrom and Marcus Johansson. In Game 1, the Capitals split up all three of those players five-on-five….

Ottawa/New York (Rangers lead 1-0):
How fast is Ottawa’s learning curve?

Don’t underestimate the Senators. We thought they were dead six games into the season. We thought they were dead right after the All-Star break. We thought…well, you get the idea….

San Jose/St. Louis (Sharks lead 1-0):
Will there be any panic in the Gateway to the West?...

Chicago/Phoenix (Coyotes lead 1-0):
What has happened to Niklas Hjalmarsson?...

more on each game…

Below, view the schedule for the games today…

My two cents: based on the games I’ve been able to check out so far, the Sharks/Blues series is the most exciting. That was some fabulous hockey I saw the other night. What’s going on in PA is definitely intense, but there was something about the level of skill in the Sharks/Blues game that had me feeling almost nervous—and I don’t have any skin in that series! Neither team means anything to me! It was just great hockey.
