Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Sun-Times,
The Hawks should be better than they are. Hearing so many of them continue to say how good the team is makes you wish life were a silent film. With 18 games left in the regular season, some proof would be nice.
“It’s all on us now,’’ Patrick Kane said Tuesday, a day after the trade deadline brought defenseman Johnny Oduya to the Hawks. “I think they’ve done everything they can to put a good team on the ice, whether it’s from the offseason or the trade deadline or the amount of preparation they have [put in] to get us ready for games.
“… We’re happy with our team, happy with the guys we have. So I think for sure the onus is on the players to get it done ourselves.’’
That it is, so now the question becomes how much they want to get it done. That’s really what this is all about. It’s about collective heart. Players never want their heart questioned, but if these Hawks believe they have the talent to make noise in the playoffs, then what’s left to question if they don’t make the postseason?
