Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Tony Gallagher of the Vancouver Province,
Two players aren’t going to transform the Wild team that utterly collapsed in the second half of last season into a world beater, but it’s entirely likely to energize everyone on the roster and make them very competitive.
How this Vancouver team reacts to this increased competitive environment for one season at least is going to be crucial. Hopefully it helps.
Hopefully it gives the management a good read of how Alain Vigneault is going to manage in a more competitive situation before the playoffs begin, given the fact he’ll be going into his seventh year with essentially this same group of players listening to his voice.
Before it was a guarantee to loaf into at least third place with Vigneault flashing his smug grin behind the bench as though he was somehow responsible. Now at least there will be some more difficult and challenging games and finishing 18-6 against the Northwest will be far less likely. These are points they’ll have to make up by taking fewer nights off.
