Hedman Diagnosed With A Concussion

from Damian Cristodero of Lightning Strikes,

Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said Saturday that defenseman Victor Hedman has a concussion, and is out indefinitely.

Hedman, 20, hasn’t played since suffering the injury in the first period Tuesday, when Yzerman said he took a “good, clean body check.” Yzerman said there’s no real timetable for Hedman’s return, but he hasn’t been able to work out, just “trying to do normal day-to-day activities.”

It’s Hedman’s second concussion, he had one during his rookie season, though Yzerman pointed out he didn’t miss much time then.

“You’re concerned obviously with what’s going on around the league right now,” Yzerman said. “But it’s day to day.”
