Have You Seen This Puck?

from Fred Mitchell and David Kaplan of the Chicago Tribune,

Where’s the The Puck?

You know, the one Patrick Kane stuffed in the corner of the net to lock up the Blackhawks’ Stanley Cup title.

The Blackhawks have challenged Grant DePorter, president of Harry Caray’s Restaurant Group, to find the treasured memento.

“Harry Caray’s restaurants is putting out a $50,000 offer to buy that puck — as long as it can be authenticated as to being the actual puck,” DePorter told us.

He gained notoriety six years ago when he paid $113,824.16 and then had the so-called Bartman Ball, which was then detonated on live TV.

Uh, just stating the obvious, but anyone stop to ask Chris Pronger?  He’s the only puck thief in the league…

Grant DePorter is a douchebag of the highest order, a history-destroying sychophant who is no doubt ingratiating himself with the Blackhawks every chance he gets.

The shtick with the Bartman Ball was gag-worthy, and part of me hopes he pays for some rat hockey puck that flew into the stands at some Park District rink and stayed there until some enterprising soul grabbed it and slapped a 2010 Stanely Cup Finals decal on it and claimed his/her check.

Full disclosure: A waiter spilled soup on my lap once at Harry Caray’s while staring at my wife. He apologized and management said they would pay for my dry-cleaning, which they have yet to do, despite my sending the receipt as requested. .

Agree with sean-o. My guess is the puck is in a rubbermaid container in Kris Pronger’s garage, along with some kids street hockey sticks and some other balls and pucks.
