Fox Sports, DirecTV reach last-minute pact

Good news for hockey fans who receive DirecTV, per Fox Sports Detroit’s Tim Bryant:

STATEMENT FROM FOX NETWORKS AND DIRECTV REGARDING THE STATUS OF PROGRAMMING NEGOTIATIONS
October 31, 2011

Fox Networks and DIRECTV have reached an agreement for DIRECTV to continue carrying all Fox Networks (including FX, National Geographic Channel, Nat Geo WILD, SPEED, FUEL TV, FOX Soccer, FOX Soccer Plus and FOX Deportes), Fox’s regional sports networks, Fox Broadcasting (FOX), the FOX local stations, Fox News Channel and Fox Business Network.  We both know the past ten days have been challenging, but we’re pleased that both sides could eventually come together to ensure our viewers continue to enjoy Fox programming.

You’ll continue to receive your Fox Sports stations without any interruptions.

I just switched to Directv… talk about ending up on the evening news if that had gone down.

Same old bullshit.

“OH NOES, we’re going to lose all of these channels on this date!!  Unless, of course, by some miracle an agreement is reached…”

And what ALWAYS ends up happening?  This, a “last minute” deal that saves the TV world from complete and utter destruction.

All kinds of stupid right there.

Wasn’t Versus off of Directv for about 6 months last fall?

Yes, but that’s often the exception rather than the rule.
