from Eric Stephens of Ducks Blog,
The Ducks’ offensive numbers are downright frightening and have been through the first month of the season. Those scoring issues were masked by a promising 4-1 start but are now coming into full view in their stretch of five losses in the past six games.
How is it that a team with perhaps the best line in hockey and the kind of other natural scoring talents that it possesses sits 29th in the NHL in offense with an average of 1.91 goals per game?...
Selanne has three goals and leads the Ducks with 10 points, but he’s the only player averaging near a point per game. Big guns Corey Perry, Ryan Getzlaf and Bobby Ryan each has four goals, but none has busted out offensively.
Perry appears to be drawing a lot more physical attention from opposing players, but the winger emphatically wouldn’t buy that there is a difference now that he is the reigning NHL most valuable player.
