Canucks Turn The Other Cheek Too Many Times

First, Kevin Porter took a nasty knee to Booth — sufficiently egregious to warrant a major penalty, but evidently not enough to draw a reaction from the Canucks, who all looked around as though they had just had a visit from Mother Teresa.

Then Luongo took a shot to the throat area on a deflection off the stick of Aaron Rome and headed off to clear the cobwebs, followed by Bieksa — the quiet room so populated at one point it was getting noisy.

Then, to end the second period, Gabriel Landeskog of all people took a shot at Manny Malhotra near the Vancouver bench. The reaction wouldn’t have been much different had he kissed him.

And early in the third period Cody Hodgson was cross-checked repeatedly in front of the net by Shane O’Brien, and all that happens in a game long over is a belated response, with Alex Burrows eventually scuffling a little with Kyle Quincy.
