I like the job Shanny is doing already.

Looks like they may really be sending a message that player safety is important.  And I may be tired, but what’s 20 minutes into a period?  Isn’t that the end of the game?

Shanny’s done everything right so far, but Wisniewski will be the first real test. Now, Wisniewski’s probably an NHL bubble player (like Corvo or Bergeron) who happened to have one good year, but he’s currently cast (and compensated) by the CBJ as if he’s a star, and the ownership will likely resist losing him for a long time, accordingly.

At the same time, he’s not simply a repeat offender, he’s a serial offender, whom even Campbell had no reservations about handing out 8 gamers to (when he was viewed as the journeyman he still is).

According to this, what he did was pretty bad

We know Shanny has no qualms about throwing the book at goons and repeat offender goons, respectively, but I’m curious to see what Wisniewski, a repeat-offender “star player” gets.

@Russostrib Michael Russo
As for wisniewski, he chased Clutterbuck around ice for 7 or 8 seconds before intentional, retaliatory blow to head for check on tyutin

looking forward to the video for both hits.

Still nothing on Phaneuf - who had another headhunting hit last night (the penalty he received was for ‘hit to the head’).

Shanahan’s as big a joke as the last guy if he continues to ignore these things.
