Blue Jackets Frustrated With Another Loss

from Shawn Mitchell of the Columbus Dispatch,

Franzen’s second goal so infuriated Jackets forward Derek Dorsett that he snapped his stick over Mason’s crossbar as the horn sounded. Dorsett, generously listed as 6 feet, later started a center-ice brawl with 6-4 Jonathan Ericsson. Ericsson had him by 30 pounds and several inches of reach.

Dorsett was pummeled.

“Someone — a young guy, an old guy, whoever — somebody has to grab a hold of this and take charge and get us out of this,” Dorsett said. “I’m beside myself. I never, ever thought we would be in this situation.”

Blue Jackets captain Rick Nash questioned the team’s leadership, including himself.

“It’s got to be better,” Nash said. “When you are a top player on your team, you have to get your team out of these slumps.”

That game (and the problem with the BJs) can be summed up with the altercation between Nash and Hudler.  215lb Nash goes after 175lb Hudler, and Hudler promptly does a double leg grab take down and pins him to the ice.  Nash isn’t classy enough to be a captain, and that team needs to add alot of heart to catch up to the Wings.

GET SOME DEFENSEMEN, YOU MORONS.

How many years of epic and complete failure does it take before CBS brings in some REAL d-men?  No amount of forwards will make up for a flakey goalie and a set of pylons defending in their own zone.

And yes, Hudler taking Nash down was hilarious.

This is Scott Howson talking to Pierre Lebrun on ESPN.com :
“Rick’s probably been harmed a little bit that way, publicly, in notoriety. Although he’s not harmed in Canada because of the world championships and Olympics, where’s he’s been an absolute stud.”
What Scotty has to learn is that when you play with Jonathan Toews and Mike Richards, Jody Shelley would look like a stud.  Nash is a shrinking violet who wanted to stay in Columbus where he can collect his $8 mill. and still have his springs and summers off.  When players question the leadership, look at the leaders.

The fans in Columbus have waited long enough.
A new GM is called for.  Clean house.
