Kukla's Korner Hockey

from Mark Emmons of Working the Corners at the Mercury News,
The Sharks have won just two of their last nine games. And the NHL is a league where coaches can have a very short shelf-life as organizations look for a “voice” that reaches the players. Five already have been fired this season.
But McLellan, who has led the Sharks to the Western Conference Finals the last two seasons, repeated Wednesday that he’s not worried about his own position. Ryane Clowe and Joe Thornton also offered strong defenses of the coach. Thornton even called it “unfair” that questions would be raised about McLellan’s job.
And GM Doug Wilson, who never comments directly on any kind of speculation, still managed to make it crystal clear that he supports his coach.
“We believe in this group and we believe in this staff,” Wilson said. “We look forward to this team playing up to its capabilities.”
