I was born and raised in Burnaby, BC walking distance from Joe Sakic (we met as kids - but he may not remember). I have been a fan and student of the game my whole life. The addiction really set in when I watched the Vancouver Canucks unlikely trip to the 1982 Stanley Cup finals. I have wandered about the globe (having lived in three countries as an adult - Canada, Germany and USA) but never lost my love for the game.
My interests are general as far as hockey goes. The Mike Keenan reign of error in Vancouver in the latter part of the 1990’s and my travels beyond Vancouver into parts unknown did a lot to broaden my horizons and reduce my narrow Canuck-centred view of the world.
I have always been interested in history of the game and how our times will be viewed in the future by hockey historians (putting today into perspective). I am interested in sabremetrics and statistics. What can we learn about the game by proper analysis? Mostly, I just want to share my view of the hockey world and have people argue with me and tell me how offbase I am.
