Filatov to Syracuse

Nikita Filatov was assigned to the Syracuse along with Derek Dorsett.  Aaron Rome, Craig MacDonald, and Derek MacKenzie also cleared waivers and are being assigned to the Crunch.

The Russian Federation hasn’t processed Filatov’s papers so that he can play for the Sudbury Wolves.  Filatov is able to be called up at any time by playing for Syracuse.  It’s going to be interesting to see how he does down there.  I have no doubt he will do well, but it’s always fun to watch a player develop.  With both Filatov and Dorsett being assigned to Syracuse that means that Manny Malhotra might be ready to go Friday, even though he didn’t practice today.

Good news that Rome cleared waivers.  Here are the line combinations and defensive pairings that the Jackets practiced with today in Oxford.

F1: Nash—Umberger—Huselius
F2: Modin—Novotny—Murray
F3: Picard—Peca—Boll
F4: Chimera—Brassard—Voracek

Pairs:

D1: Hejda—Commodore
D2: Tyutin—Klesla
D3: Russell—Backman

Strange to see Brassard and Voracek on the fourth line.  According to Puck-Rakers it could be the second or fourth line depending how they play.  Pazzy will get the start tomorrow in Dallas.  More updates later.
