Big game for the Jackets

The Blue Jackets enter the game tonight still sitting in 6th place.  They have to beat the Oilers to keep that spot.  And it really NEEDS to be a straight up win, no OT, no shootout, just a straight up victory.

With the loss on Tuesday to the Flames, Ken Hitchcock has decided to change up the lines.  I don’t have a problem with it at all, if we’re not winning games, obviously something is going to change.

Here are how the boys practiced this morning.

Rick Nash - Jason Williams - Jake Voracek
Kristian Huselius - Manny Malhotra - R.J. Umberger
Andrew Murray - Chris Gratton - Derek Dorsett
Raffi Torres - Jiri Novotny - Jared Boll

I really like moving Williams and Voracek to the top line.  Chimera is out at least a week and without Chimera we can’t have the “Flying J” line anymore.

Huselius had chance after chance on Tuesday and wasn’t able to get rewarded.

I feel like Hitchcock when I discuss the Blue Jackets and when we lose.  Our best players have to be our best players.  We get the chances but we just didn’t capitalize.  That has to stop, this is the “all important” road trip for us, so the next two games will be pretty telling.

Check back here for a live blog tonight also, please be patient as life has been a little crazy with school (mid-terms are awful) and work losing one of our other managers it has lead to some long days and even longer (sleepless) nights.
