Uncle Mike: Hank’s Got To Pick It Up

From Kevin Allen’s Twitter account,

Talking this morning about the Red Wings’ early struggles Mike Babcock: “(Zetterberg) has to get to another level—that’s the bottom line”

Oddly, I have a thought or two about that.

First…it’s my understanding that Zetterman’s been hurt since close to the beginning of camp.  When his groin heals, he’ll be better.  My performance always improves when my groin doesn’t hurt.

Second…if there’s a player who doesn’t need to be called out in the media, it’s The Future Captain.  But, hey, if Uncle Mike thinks that’s the way to go…roll the dice.

Third…we’re five games into the season. But sooner or later, if this garbage continues?  Somebody’s gonna start asking questions.  Questions like…“why break up a winning lineup after your ‘best game of the season’.”

All that stuff is trivial when the team’s winning Mike.  But when mediocrity creeps in?  That microscope gets a tad bit closer to the issues.  Not that our Diggers would ever bring them up, but that doesn’t mean those issues aren’t there.

Oh..and FYI?  Zeppelin may hit the press box tonite.  We may have to go with a proven winner.

About Abel to Yzerman

Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977.  No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y.  Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation.  There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature.  Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
