Abel to Yzerman

Seger’s back, and so is our little Russian pal Pavel. Tomorrow, I’m going to have a recap of our day at the Staples Center. For now? A little ditty for you.
A Kings fan sitting in front of us gave me an angry glance when I stood up and screamed for Hudler to please frigging skate. Seriously, just make some sort of Pimp effort to stop the shortie we were about to see. I think, and I can’t be sure, that I screamed like a bitch and I’m positive that the Kings fan looked back at me smugly when that puck slid under Jim Howard’s pads into the back of the net.
And I understood that. I did. I get these people and I know that when they look around their arenas and see these shock waves of red, it makes them sad. So, a shorty? Be happy young man. Be happy.
Later…Misconduct. Actually, it’s spelled differently. Wait for it. I’ll explain.
Same Kings fan, different circumstances. Wings are up 3-1 and not everyone in our section is quite as happy as they were an hour or so before. But that would change. Because Midwestern girls have a way of changing moods.
I don’t know if it was all slow motion and shit? But she was walking slow. And when the girl with the significant chest and the Wing t-shirt stopped in front of that King fan? She turned to make sure that he could read it all, every letter. Slowly. “Miss Conduct”...Like the Hollywood sign, only across a different mountain range and one that was definitely NOT made by baby Jesus.
The King fan, surrounded by family, looked back at me. Seriously. He did. He gave me this look that said, “wellll…care to defend THAT?”
I looked at him and said, “What can I say? She’s a Wing fan. Probably from Bay City.”
Game over. Conversation over. Done.
The transplants were absolutely overwhelming last night and I expect nothing less tonite at the stupid Poultry Center.
It’s a Live Blog, bitches. In Southern California where the Michigan girls are plentiful and the high-brow boys don’t have any idea how to deal with them.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
