First: there’s a new Obstructed View up and ready for you. Carve out six or seven hours of your day and give it a listen.
Next: each of you has a new best friend, a new addition to your one-man wolfpacks (Remember when I used to quote Tenacious D all the time? Yeah, The Hangover’s where I am right now). His name is Ryan Michaels and he works at the DRW ticket office. I’ve never met Ryan but I know that he’s been a madman behind the scenes ensuring that approximately 100 of you have a huge block of seats together at the Joe for the H2H game on 26 March against Pinky’s Wild.
I’m not sure Ryan really has any idea what he’s done but one of you guys needs to buy him a beer, and soon. He’s been working this hard and as a result the ticket prices are down to 38 bucks apiece. That’s sick. A ticket, a block of cheddar, four beers and some applesauce…all for like, I don’t know, 67 dollars or something.
Important: email Jen MacRostie (jennyquarx at gmail dot com) if you want to get in on the H2H block of seats.
The A2Y interns from the greater UP/Wisconsin regions have also found a line on hotel discounts. Contact Jen and let her know if you’re looking for a room, how many people you’ll be with, if you’re willing to share a room, and if you’re allergic to penicillin.
We’re looking into T-Shirts, with all proceeds going to Children’s Hospital. This idea is in the early stages but it looks like we could get them for as little as 12 bucks apiece. Just need to figure out a design, slogan, all that. Suggestions are welcome in the comment section here.
Hockeytown Cafe is reserved for the pre-game party and those guys are pumped about hosting this for some reason. Like Ryan, I’m pretty sure they have no idea what’s coming down the pike.
Finally, the next two months are going to be geared toward taking advantage of the H2H concept and raising as much money as we can for Children’s Hospital of Michigan. We’re well over 2K right now and every cent from this point forward goes to the kids. We need to start thinking sponsors among Detroit or national businesses. If you know a business owner with a philanthropic (sorry Blues fans…“generous and kind hearted”) side to them, run H2H by them and talk about matching donations, Brazilian castaways and how favorably Gary’s IRS looks at charitable donations.
Money raised to date: $2260.19.

About Abel to Yzerman
Welcome to Abel to Yzerman, a Red Wing blog since 1977. No other site on the internet has better-researched, fact-laden and better prepared discussions than A2Y. Re-phrase: we do little research, find facts and stats highly overrated and claim little to no preparation. There are 19 readers of A2Y. No more, no less. All of them, except maybe one, are juvenile in nature. Reminding them of that in the comment section will only encourage them to prove that.
