GDT - Game #72:  Red Wings at Sharks (10:30)

DET (44-24-3) have just one win in their last 6 road contests, and have gone 2-5 overall this month.  The Wings PP is 0-fer March, 0 goals (for) on 28 chances. NSH is only one point behind the Wings in the Central (and the Conference) Bubba has a game in hand.  If you think home ice doesn’t matter, Sagarin ratings for the season give the home team a 0.59 goal advantage.  Moose is having back spasms and is likely out (you don’t want to know about Lidstrom’s status).  But, it isn’t all bad news for the home team, Pavel Datsyuk will likely play tonight, after missing 11 games. And, this is the last game of the last road trip of the season (DET have only 3 single away games left after tonight).

As for the Shark’s (35-25-10), they find themselves one point out of the playoffs.  The problem for SJS is that there are five teams (positions 7-11) fighting for the final two playoff spots, all of them are separated by only one point.

Uncle Mike isn’t buying the Shark’s desperation, he says the Wings got their own issues::  “I don’t know who could be more desperate than us. I don’t even begin to understand that. If you’re playing well and everything is going good, maybe they could be more desperate. But if you’re a group like we are right now and you’re trying to get your game back, to me, there’s no one who should be more desperate than us.”

As Kate would say, “It’s time for some of those streaks to end.  Law of averages and all that.”  (Hope you don’t mind me saying it, Kate - just kept thinking it when I was reading Okie’s post.)

Thanks, Okie!

Wolverines play for the CCHA championship tonight at the Joe, right before the Wings game.  On FSD!

LET’S GO BLUE!!!  LET’S GO RED WINGS !!!!!

Word.

Let’s hope Pav doesn’t get beat up and back on the injured list again tonight.

Oh crap, even when they were winning, the games on NBC were their few losses.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to The 19.  “Erin Go Bragh” indeed.  Slainte.

Thanks for the GDT, Jeff.  Truly ‘preciate it.

Khan says Datsyuk likely to play, Moose likely not.

Maybe this will get Horse’s Ass back in gear.  Pun intended.

It’s gonna be a nervous St. Paddy’s Day for me.  In addition to the Wings playing the chum tonight, the American LeMans Series 12 Hours of Sebring is going on right now and I’m cheering on the Corvettes in GT and GTE-Am to their respective racing classes.

If you’re interested and you have digital cable, clicky here.  63 total cars in 6 racing classes; one of the biggest in ALMS history.  Gonna be a fun and nerve-wracking race.  Go Corvettes!

Just to clarify, looks like they are on FSD too.  So people may not be stuck watching DC and company.

Thanks Oakey!

I dare say we seem to have lost our Mojo.  Maybe the luck of the Irish will see us through.

What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a four-leaf clover? A rash of good luck.  Make mine a double!

Plan for tonight?  I see RUM.

So people may not be stuck watching DC and company.

Ahhh, but yannow even with an option some will….

Agree with MSRedWinger. It’s the law, and lately it’ been Murphy’s Fuching Law. Time to change the trend.

Thanks OAkie.
