GDT - Game #30:  Red Wings at Predators (8:00)

The Red Wings (19-9-1) play tonight at Nashville (15-11-4) after beating Pittsburgh 4-1 on Tuesday for their third straight victory and 10th in 12 games.  DET have allowed two goals or fewer in 20 of their 29 games.  Their 2.17 GA/G ranks fifth in the NHL, comparable to the 2007-08 season, when they allowed the fewest goals in the league (2.18).  Jimmy F. Howard is playing Vezina worthy hockey right now;  he has yielded two goals or fewer in nine of 11 outings since Nov. 19, going 10-1-0 with a 1.72 goals-against average.

As a team, DET’s 1.67 5-5 F/A are second only to BOS.  Here is another number you don’t see everyday; of the Wings skaters playing in more than 5 games, none are minus players (only three are even, everyone else is +1 or better).  Conversely, NSH have 14 minus skaters (having played in more than 5 games).

NSH are also on a three game win streak, having defeated Columbus, Anaheim and Calgary.  Prior to their winning streak, the Predators had dropped seven of nine.  Pekka Rinne has a 2.00 GAA during his current three-game winning streak after going 0-5-1 with a 3.93 GAA in his previous seven contests.

While the 19 are plugging their ears for the damning whistles - my sweetheart and I will be humming a song from 1962.  Bullet Bob is in OKC tonight, and we’ll be getting our share.

Happy Birthday to the Master Chief, and LGRW.

Bullet Bob is in OKC tonight, and we’ll be getting our share.

Have fun tonite, OAkie. Bullet Bob’s best NIght Moves involved pulling up his drawers between songs. Funniest thing I had seen at a concert.

And thanks, OAkie, for the most excellent GDT.

Bitches.

Woke last night to the sound of thunder….

...And it sounded like it was headed toward Nashville.  Enjoy the show, Okie, and yeah, I’m jealous.  Have a good time, you deserve it for the great work on the GDTs.

Emmerton in for the Rifleman (out two weeks) tonight.

General manager Ken Holland said another forward “is a little banged up,” but wouldn’t reveal who, other than to confirm it’s not Pavel Datsyuk.

That sucks.  Just when we found some real chemistry on our third line.  Guess we’ll know the answer as to the identity of the “mystery player” if Tatar is in the lineup tonight.  Any guesses?  Hank maybe?

I’ll be attending my company holiday party tonight, so I’ll have to catch the game later.  LGRW—keep this thing rollin’!

Imagine that christmas party, 1200 kinds of beer to sample, maybe cigars, distillers hawking their products.

I would welcome 5 more “not hot” clones of this fellow in the lineup.
