GDT - Game #25:  Red Wings at Avalanche (8:00)

The Red Wings (16-7-1) are whipping out their Conk, as they look to win an eighth straight game for the first time since Jan. 17-Feb. 5, 2008.  During their seven game streak,  DET has outscored opponents 28-12.  The Wings shootout win at BOS was the only one-goal win during the streak. First period scoring has been the Wings straw that stirs their wins, DET are outscoring opponents 10-1 in the first. Non ASG worthy, Jimmy F. Howard, notes that the dressing room has a little swagger at the moment:  “The confidence in the room right now is great. And in hockey, confidence is everything.”

COL (12-`13-1) have won back-to-back games for the first time since a five-game run from Oct. 10-17.  The Avalanche are coming off Friday’s 3-2 shootout win over St. Louis after beating New Jersey 6-1 on Wednesday. They were 3-9-1 in their previous 13 games.

Conner looked GREAT last game, forcing turnovers on the forecheck, winning battles, putting pucks on net and going to hard areas… Much more nice having a true grinder doing that job.  I can’t wait to see a Mursak-Helm-Conner line.. hole shit, Rocket Line.

Also notice significant changes to the PP and it’s finally clicking.. Noticeably different now and I’m loving it.

anyway one looks at this game, it should be an interesting match up.

You mean you really don’t want to read gems like this from TPSH? How could anyone NOT click this absolute high quality of writing and keen hockey intellect?

Another goalie has played a little bit better in a very heavy role with his team in Jonathan Quick of the Los Angeles Kings.  I think he is current best goaltender so far this season.
