GDT - Game #21:  Red Wings at Bruins (1:00)

A matinee matchup of Original Six teams as DET (12-7-1) plays at BOS (13-7-0).  The Wings have won three in a row and are 7-2 in their past nine.  Coach Babcock after the Flames game:  “We always talk about if you get six wins in every 10, you got a chance to get 48 wins and that’s in the playoffs. So that’s 12 now after 20 games so we’re in a good spot.”

Winning today will be challenging, the Bruins are scorching hot.  Winners of 10 straight, they are at the front of all statistics that matter, #2 in scoring (3.30 G/G), #2 in defense (2.10 GA/G), and #1 at even strength (1.82 5-5 F/A).  Tim Thomas is incredible, #3 in GAA (1.85), and #3 in Save% (.936), with three shutouts (#1).

The Bruins are aiming for their first 11 game win streak in over 40 years.  The Red Wings are counting on Johan Franzen to get on the score sheet.  All of his points have come in 11 of the team’s 12 wins. He has no points in Detroit’s eight losses (including an overtime loss). He has a plus-17 rating in wins and a minus-7 rating in losses.

It is a Black Friday GDT.  LGRW.

Today is, no doubt, a huge challenge.  But I say the Bruins are due for a loss and so why not have the Wings dish it out to them.

LET’S GO RED WINGS !!!!!

You know what would be beautiful?  If the Wings bullied the Bruins on their way to a dominant win, in front of Boston’s own crowd.

The entire rest of the league would smile.

There is a fair chance today’s game is a preview of the 2012 SCF.

Good morning from the pacific northwest.  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I have no idea what to expect from this team today, but I think we’ve all had that feeling for a few weeks now.  At least we won’t be stoned by some mediocre, third-rate goaltender today.

Two of the hottest teams in the NHL facing off against each other. The Bruins cannot win every game for the rest of the season, though it looks like they will as of now. But, as mentioned earlier, they are due for a loss.

Why not today?

A work of art, Jeff.  Thanks.

There is a fair chance today’s game is a preview of the 2012 SCF.

I say that’s a huge chance of happening.

Go Wings!
