Dan Rosen: Wings Prospects/Future Look “Amazing”

About a week ago the gutter dwellers at Mile High Hockey had this to say about the Wings:
We often joke about how old this team is, but when you sit down and really look at it, it’s worse than you could imagine. The core is sparse, and largely on the downside of their careers. Worse yet, there’s nothing back down on the farm. In the next two years 18 contracts for NHL regulars will be up for renewal. The day of reckoning is finally here. Death’s door is at most a season away.
Not sure if that was eighth grade “Andie” or the hyphenated guy, but wow…so much hate and hope mixed together.
Woops. Dan Rosen?
Working on Detroit’s part of our 30-in-30 series, specifically the prospects part. The Wings have a good group, a lot of hope. It’s amazing.
Looking forward to that Denver? How about this? Hockey’s Future ranks the Wings, organizationally, at number 10. The Dive? 24.

Smith, Nyquist, Jurco, Tatar, Jarnkrok, Pulkkinen, Tvrdon, Sheahan, Sproul, Frk, Ouellet, Aubry, Mrazek…...
What team can compete with that group of players coming down the pipeline? I’m thinking the Wings of a few years from now has a chance to be even better than the teams we’ve gotten used to seeing every year. Jimmy Nill, you never let us down. And who are the highest picks of that bunch? Sheahan taken 21st overall and Smith taken 27th overall. Crazy.

Just like the annoying booger eating kid next door. Don’t give them any attention and hopefully they’ll just go away.

Classic dive.
I was actually thinking we have a couple Stanley Cups coming once those kids start making the big club, Jurco, Frk, Pulkkinen, Jarnkrok, Sheahan, Mrazek and everyone else Brandon mentioned, most are only 1 to 3 years away, and our “old busted” vets will be Z and Pav. Then we have Nyquist and Smith already on the big club as transition guys. And a lot of our prospects are leaders in their league, on their team, in the position and have A LOT of tournament experience.
Our team looks absolutely SICK.. Capable of multiple cups
