from the New York Islanders,
The New York Islanders have claimed defenseman Thomas Pock off waivers from the New York Rangers. Pock has played in 59 career NHL games and has scored seven goals with seven assists for 14 points.
Asked Tuesday about the situation, Rangers coach Tom Renney repeated his mantra of patience. He said again that he wants to get every defenseman into a game before long, and was aware of Pock’s plight.
“That sounds good,” Pock said. “I’m looking forward to playing. I didn’t practice my whole life to make it to the NHL so I could sit in the press box. Every player wants to be out there. At some point, something’s going to happen, I guess. I don’t think he’s going to keep me here all year and have me sit on the back burner. Who knows? Maybe they will.”
