ANAHEIM, Calif. – The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has signed defenseman Steve Eminger to a two-year contract. Per club policy, financial terms were not disclosed.
“Steve Eminger brings a physical presence to our blueline and is very capable offensively,” said Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray. “Being only 25 years old, we expect him to continue improving as a player and make a solid contribution this season.”

The Philadelphia Flyers signed defenseman Steve Eminger to a one-year contract Sunday.
Eminger was acquired by Philadelphia along with a 2008 third-round pick from the Washington Capitals on June 20 for a first-round pick in the 2008 draft.
“Steve is a young two-way defenseman that will fit in nicely with our group,” said Flyers general manager Paul Holmgren.
from the Washington Post,
After dropping five of the past six games and dropping into last place, there are lots of frustrated players in the Washington Capitals’ locker room. No one, though, is more unhappy than defenseman Steve Eminger, who isn’t playing and isn’t sure why.
“It’s past frustrating,” he said following yesterday’s practice at Kettler Capitals Iceplex. “It’s just a matter of them putting me in the lineup, and putting me in there for more than one game, or moving me to somewhere I’m going to play. Because clearly I’m not in their plans.”
