Dallas Trades Lauri Korpikoski To Columbus

FRISCO, Texas - Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has acquired defenseman Dillon Heatherington from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for left wing Lauri Korpikoski.

Heatherington, 21, has produced six points (1-5=6) in 38 games played for Cleveland of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season. Last season was his first full professional campaign and he helped Lake Erie to the Calder Cup championship, appearing in 15 playoff contests and recording three assists (0-3=3). In total, he has appeared in 104 career AHL regular season games and has posted 26 points (4-22=26). He will report to Texas, Dallas' top development affiliate in the AHL.

The 6-foot-4, 215-pound native of Calgary, Alberta was originally selected by Columbus in the second round (50th overall) of the 2013 NHL Draft.

Korpikoski, 30, recorded 20 points (8-12=20) in 60 games played for the Stars this season. The 6-foot-1, 195-pound native of Turku, Finland was signed as a free agent by Dallas on Oct. 10, 2016.

Lauri Korpikoski Re-Signed By Coyotes

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed left wing Lauri Korpikoski to a four-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are pleased to sign Lauri to a multi-year contract,” said Maloney. “Lauri is an intelligent, two-way forward, an effective penalty killer and an excellent skater.  We are excited to have him back with us in Phoenix this season.”

“I am very happy to be back with the Coyotes,” said Korpikoski. “We have a great group of players here and an excellent coaching staff. It’s a great organization and this is where I wanted to play. ”

Korpikoski Signs With Phoenix

GLENDALE, ARIZONA – Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have avoided the arbitration process and re-signed forward Lauri Korpikoski to a two-year contract. As per club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“We are very pleased to sign Lauri to a two-year contract,” said Maloney. “Lauri is an excellent skater, a versatile forward and an important player on our team. We are happy to avoid arbitration and finalize a contract.”

Rangers/Coyotes Trade

GLENDALE, ARIZONA—Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have acquired left wing Lauri Korpikoski from the New York Rangers in exchange for right wing Enver Lisin.

Korpikoski, 22, appeared in 68 games with the Rangers last season as a rookie, recording 6-8-14 and 14 penalty minutes (PIM). He also collected two assists while appearing in all seven of the Rangers’ playoff games last season.
