GLENDALE, ARIZONA—- Phoenix Coyotes General Manager Don Maloney announced today that the Coyotes have re-signed restricted free agent forward Kyle Chipchura to a one-year contract. As per Club policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Last season, the 6-foot-2, 205 pound Chipchura played 53 games for the Coyotes registering 3-13-16 and 42 penalty minutes (PIM). His 13 assists and 16 points were both career highs. Chipchura also played in 15 playoff games for the Coyotes, collecting 1-3-4. He began the season with the Portland Pirates (AHL), playing in 8 games and recording 4-2-6 and 4 PIM.
“We are very pleased to re-sign Kyle,” said Maloney. “Kyle is a hard working, versatile forward who brings toughness and grit to our lineup. We are happy to have him back.”

It was called a goal on the ice and Toronto agreeed, saying the hand-slapping motion from Chipchura came after the puck hit his glove.

The Montreal Canadiens have traded Kyle Chipchura to the Anaheim Ducks for a fourth-round draft pick.
“Kyle Chipchura is a heart-and-soul player,” said Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Murray. “A team leader in both his professional and amateur career, Chipchura will be a valuable addition to the Anaheim Ducks.”
