“I applied for the (TV) play by play job in Columbus before the team’s inaugural season and would have loved to come home and been the voice of the Blue Jackets for 40 years.  I didn’t get the job and have been stuck working at the most successful network in TV history. Darn the luck. My current contract (with ESPN) is up July 1, 2012. We will see what happens then.”

Buccigross and Keith Jones Answer Your Questions

from ESPN,

Question from anonymous (Westerville, Ohio): What is your scouting report on the Flyers this year?

Jones: Well, 22 to 24 of the teams are .500 teams. There are four elite teams and there about three or four are above average. I’d put the Flyers in that above-average category. The four elite teams are Ottawa, Carolina, Detroit and Anaheim (once they get Scott Niedermayer back). The Rangers are in the class of the Flyers. I’m not sure how much Jaromir Jagr has left in the tank. He looks disinterested and that’s a big concern.

KK Talks to ESPN’s John Buccigross

The interview can be heard on the flash player below, (or you can download the mp3 audio file here).

Note: Alanah also had a chance to speak with Keith Jones himself. That audio is available here.
