Dallas Stars Play-By-Play Announcer, Dave Strader
"I realize I have a challenge and fight ahead of me. With my wife Colleen and our family, along with the full support of the Dallas Stars organization, we are ready to meet this challenge. We don't have to look very far for inspiration as Bekki Nill has shown us all how to meet this dreaded disease head-on. Personally, her example will serve as a great guide. I want to thank everyone for their support as I proceed with treatment."
The Dallas Stars respect Dave's request for privacy regarding his condition at this time, and will provide further updates on his status when they are available.

Dave and Razor? Strader and Razor?
The new play-by-play voice of the Dallas Stars is Dave Strader, a veteran NHL broadcaster who has worked nationally for ESPN, Fox, Versus and NBC Sports Network.
The official announcement is expected to come later this morning but there will be no local news conference to present the new voice. Strader is in Tampa preparing to call Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals for various radio networks including satellite’s SiriusXM.
Strader spent the 2014-2015 season as the No. 2 play-by-play voice behind Mike Emrick at NBCSN. NBC says it will continue to use Strader when he has no Stars conflicts.
Strader replaces Ralph Strangis, who resigned in April after 22 seasons of Stars broadcasts, the last 19 in the play-by-play seat alongside analyst Daryl “Razor” Reaugh.

After three flights to three different cities and several taxi cabs, I’m now on the train from New York City to Philadelphia for Game 4 between the Penguins and Flyers.
Last night at Madison Square Garden was a great playoff atmosphere. As I mentioned on our telecast, there are so many great venues and fans around the NHL, but there is something unique about MSG
