from the Minnesota Wild,
On the day the Minnesota Wild will shake up its line combinations, the club also will shake up its roster.
The Wild has acquired left wing Mike Rupp from the New York Rangers in exchange for forwards Darroll Powe and Nick Palmieri.
via NHLFlyers tweet,
#Flyers have traded center Darroll Powe to Minnesota in exchange for Minnesota’s 3rd round draft pick in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
Today’s three cheers, saluting those who deserve as much for their performances yesterday:
***Cheers to Vancouver’s Roberto Luongo, whose 41 saves thwarted the efforts of his former club, the Florida Panthers en route to the first win of the season for the Canucks. Luongo’s .973 save percentage through his club’s first two games is hardly anything to scoff at and his quick start is a great sign for a Canucks team with extremely high hopes for the season. As for Florida, 42 shots on goal are great but three goals through two games won’t get the job done and that sort of paltry offensive production could be exactly what keeps the Panthers from succeeding this season. Tomas Vokoun can only keep opponents at bay to a certain extent.

via Frank Seravalli of Frequent Flyers at the Philadelphia Daily News,
The Flyers and restricted free agent forward Darroll Powe agreed to a one-year deal yesterday, the Daily News has learned.
Powe, 25, will earn $725,000 for the upcoming season in a one-way contract – meaning the Flyers plan to have him on their roster throughout the season. It’s a 36-percent raise from the $532,500 he earned last year.
Powe will be a restricted free agent again next season.
