Yzerman May Miss Opener

, Steve Yzerman might be sidelined with a groin injury for the Detroit Red Wings season opener against St. Louis next week. "The injury has kept him off the ice this week and we'll know a lot more on Monday when he plans to skate again," general manager Ken Holland said Thursday. The Calgary Flames will have to begin their defense of the Western Conference championship without Robyn Regehr. The Flames on Thursday announced Regehr suffered a sprained knee in Wednesday's preseason victory over the Edmonton Oilers and will be sidelined up to one month.
