As the new NHL franchise in Las Vegas prepares to begin play in 2017-18, its future home, the recently completed T-Mobile Arena, will stage a pair of preseason games. The Los Angeles Kings will appear in both contests, facing the Dallas Stars Oct. 7 and Colorado Avalanche Oct. 8.

The people of Lumby, B.C., winners of the Canada-wide Kraft Hockeyville competition, will celebrate the grand prize when the Oilers and Kings visit their community Oct. 2. The Oilers and Kings will face off that night in the nearby city of Vernon (broadcast in Canada on Sportsnet at 6 p.m. PT/9 p.m. ET).

The Buffalo Sabres and Carolina Hurricanes then will meet Oct. 4 in the Kraft Hockeyville™ USA matchup in Marquette, Mich. (broadcast in the United States on NBCSN at 7 p.m. ET).
