Yashin Goes Home To Clear His Head

via the Winnipeg Free Press,

NHL exile Alexei Yashin is returning to a place “where he’s looked at like a god,” his girlfriend, model and actress Carol Alt, says.
Yashin—who became an unrestricted free agent last month when the New York Islanders bought out the remaining four years of his 10-year, US$87.5-million contract—signed a one-year deal last week with Locomotiv Yaroslavi of the Russian League.
“I think he needs to go where people understood him and where he’s looked at like a god,” Alt said.
“He wants to come back (to the NHL), but I just think he needs to clear his head.”
