Hockey Night in Canada's Andi Petrillo shares her thoughts about the action on, and off, the ice on the opening night of the NHL playoffs.
Chicago Blackhawks win 2-1 in OT over Minnesota Wild
On the ice: Someone forgot to tell Minnesota that Chicago was supposed to walk all over them and win the series handily. How dare they force overtime! It was a night of "firsts" for Cal Clutterbuck. He played in his first NHL playoff game, took the Wild's first shot, and scored his first NHL playoff goal. Unless you're a Blackhawks fan, if you weren't rooting for Wild backup goalie Josh Harding, who was pressed into action after an injury to Niklas Backstrom in warm-ups, you have a heart of stone. And hey, Ryan Suter, 41:08 of ice time? Stop hogging all the fun!
Off the ice: During the second intermission, NASCAR driver Danica Patrick took part in the "Shoot the Puck" contest and scored on her first attempt. She wore a Blackhawks jersey with the number 10. Her car number is 10, the name on her jersey was Patrick, and Chicago's Patrick Sharp wears number 10. This is just too crazy!
