Would the Sens Trade Alfredsson?

From Bruce Garrioch at the Ottawa Sun (via Toronto Sun):
The Sun spoke with league types in the last three days to see how likely it is Alfredsson will be moved. Here are some factors the Senators will have to weigh:
No. 1: Alfredsson’s salary is an attractive $1 million in the final year of his contract and that’s a bargain basement price for a player with his capabilities. But he still carries a $4.875-million cap hit because that’s the average annual value of the deal. That could be tough for a lot of teams to swallow.
No. 2: Since Alfredsson signed the extension after he turned 35, he will still be a cap hit even if he decides not to play next season.

Detroit is one of the only places I’d love to see him go, actually. Couldn’t stomach watching his highness in monst other jerseys.
Plus if he’s gonna go, it best be to a team that can actually win.
All that said, this article is a waste of time… it’s about the 4th time Garrioch has written it this month. We’re 7 games into the season… leave it alone.
