WJC Diary

from USA Hockey,
Team USA captain and University of Michigan sophomore Kevin Porter, an alum of USA Hockey's National Team Development Program in Ann Arbor, Mich., will file regular diary entries throughout the 2006 IIHF World Junior Championship. My trip began early Sunday morning when I left my home in Northville, Mich., with my father around 7:30 a.m. for a 9 o’clock flight, and it was at the airport where I met up with a few teammates -- Gerbs, Schnids, Mits, Johnny and Schremper (Nate Gerbe, Cory Schneider, Mark Mitea and Rob Schremp). Our flight was direct to Seattle, where we would meet USA Hockey’s Jim Johannson at the airport, and, because ours was the first group to arrive, we took a shuttle to the hotel and waited for the other players and staff to come tot town.
