from Aaron Portzline of Puck-Rakers,
The Blue Jackets will be without defenseman James Wisniewski long term after he suffered a broken bone in a foot during Sunday's 1-0 loss in Chicago. It's the latest hit to a Blue Jackets blue line that has endured many already this season.
"Wiz .. he's going to be out over an extended period of time," Blue Jackets coach Todd Richards said.
With defenseman Jack Johnson out of the lineup at least another week with a right shoulder injury, the Blue Jackets are ravaged once again. Johnson and Wisniewski opened the season as the Blue Jackets' top pair, but were amicably separated a week or so ago.
Wisniewski's going to be a while, though the club hasn't stated a target return date. Johnson could return to skating next week, Richards said.
