Winter Classic Talk

All indications point to the Winter Classic being cancelled sometime tomorrow by the NHL.
But I still want to believe they need to have a face-to-face with the NHLPA before doing so. Therefore I am going to go out on a limb and saying we hear nothing about the Winter Classic until Monday.
One thing I do know, if the Winter Classic eventually bites the dust, Gary Bettman won't be able to show face at any hockey game in Michigan.
He may have to send Brendan Shanahan as his replacement and hockey fans may even boo Shanny.

If there was a settlement tomorrow, the Garden Gnome wouldn’t be able to show his face in any Michigan rink again. And I think that also might apply to any rink in the league.
It won’t be the non-stop booing that will be the problem for him. It’ll be the “missiles” thrown at him from the stands. Seriously, I think his safety will be very much in jeopardy for the foreseeable future. And, personally, I think that’s exactly how it should be.
So, go ahead, Lil’ Gary, cancel the Winter Classic. Hell, cancel the whole damn season. But if you do, don’t for one second think that your life will ever be the same once hockey starts up again.

People hated Bettman passionately before the lockout. People hate Bettman passionately now. People will hate Bettman passionately after the lockout.
We’re not talking about things lost here, people. Just things delayed. There will be a WC in Michigan.
Hell, if it is killing you to not see an outdoor game, get some tickets to the GLI this year (Michigan, State, Western and… Tech? I forget). It’s going to be at Comerica.

Wrong yet again, sir—the GLI will move back indoors if the Classic is canceled.

Well that sucks. I wonder how they are going to re-set the seating arrangements on the tickets.
