Winnipeg's Slump Comes At The Wrong Time

The Jets have picked the worst possible time to go into the tank, last night’s 4-2 gift to the New York Rangers the latest example of a team finding different ways to melt down when it matters most.

This swan dive to the regular-season finish line has produced just two wins in 10 games, and only half of them have been without the 20-year-old Scheifele in the lineup....

The Jets inability to lift their game to the level required at this time of year can be reflected in some badly-time scoring slumps.

Evander Kane’s well-publicized drought has reached 11 games, and he’s minus-eight in his last six games.

Blake Wheeler has one goal in his last 13, Devin Setoguchi one in 12.

Zach Bogosian has been a plus player once in the last 11 games.

The old adage about big-time players coming up big in big-time games simply doesn’t apply, here.
