from Matthew DeFranks of the Dallas News,
The Stars asked for more offense. They asked for a more productive power play. They got both Monday night against Arizona. But so did the Coyotes.
The Stars extended their win streak to a season-long five games with a 5-4 win over Arizona, weathering an explosive third period in which the two teams combined for six goals, culminating with Tyler Seguin's game-winner with 7:32 left in the third period.
"There was just a sense that we weren't going to be denied tonight," Stars coach Jim Montgomery said. "And that's a sense we're starting to get on the bench in the third period, which speaks to the growth and the mindset of our players."
Dallas maintained their position in third place in the Central Division and pulled eight points clear of Colorado for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. It was just the second time this season the Stars won after trailing entering the third period. The only previous time was Dec. 1 in Vancouver, and Dallas is now 2-13-0 in such situations.
