The Red Wings go into the playoffs with a new man behind the bench, Mike Babcock, and a new No. 1 goaltender in Manny Legace, but otherwise, it's pretty much the same old crew as before. ...How are the Red Wings better equipped to handling the playoff pressures this time as opposed to last time? Babcock, who coached the Mighty Ducks to the 2003 Stanley Cup final (upsetting the Red Wings in the opening round), talked about the "professionalism" of his group and noted: "We compete hard most nights. I read the articles about Calgary and how good they are defensively. Well, we've given up two fewer goals. We're a committed group and we've got good depth throughout our line-up."read on...if you are a Wings fan, a must read and compliments to Yzerman, who is in the lineup tonight against Calgary... added 5:13pm, Chris Chelios on Yzerman from another Eric Duhatschek article,
"It's great to see him contributing offensively like he has," said Chelios. "He's playing with Langer (Robert Lang), who is probably a pretty good player for him to be playing with — a playmaker and a goalscorer. Yzy's been scoring some big goals for us and it's great to see. I know everybody's pulling for him. It might just get in his head and keep him interested for next year too. That's what I hope anyway."
