Wings Handling New NHL

Some traditional NHL powers, like the Boston Bruins and St. Louis Blues, have struggled to adjust to the new business models of the League. The Detroit Red Wings, however, have weathered the winds of change beautifully. "Any time your team's gone from $80 million to $40 million, they cut (the payroll) in half. We didn't cut our team in half, obviously," Wings coach Mike Babcock said. "So that's been real positive."
