A big part of his future behind the club’s bench will depend on whether he’s able to come up with a new approach and provide the right answers during a meeting Monday with Senators general manager Pierre Dorion and assistant GM Randy Lee at the Canadian Tire Centre.
After sitting down with the club’s head coach during a frank discussion at the end of a disappointing regular season and a 30th-place finish, the Senators told Boucher to go away after the two-hour session and ponder what route he’s going to take to make this club better.
Now, it’s up to Boucher to show he’s ready to make the right adjustments to get this club back to having success.
“We’re going to meet with Guy on Monday and then we’re going to process all the information,” Dorion told Postmedia Saturday night after the NHL’s draft lottery at the CBC studios. “In the coaches’ meeting we did most of the talking.
